THE OUTDRAW SONG: OWL CITY – VANILLA TWILIGHT

               

                Owl City (Adam Young) is one of the singer star an America electronic musical and multi-instrumentalist in Owatonna, Minnesota. Not so much knows him. The all of his song and music are easy listening but hard to understanding, because he uses words very poetic. It makes his songs so phenomenal, such as Fireflies, Alligator Sky, Galaxies, Meteor Shower, Good Time, Vanilla Twilight and many more.

                Vanilla Twilight, if we are one of the big fans of  Owl City, we will know that song. Vanilla twilight is a single from his debut album, Ocean Eyes. The first when I read the title. I guessed it told about nature. But absolutely I was wrong. This song tells about love.

                This song tell about man’s love, but the woman has die, and he never stopped loving her. He always reflect an image when he doing something with her. If  we listen it carefully, we will hear the lyrics “But I’ll miss your arms around me”, “I’d send a postcard tou you dear”, “Cause I wish you were here”. muthiofficial.blogspot.com . Its mean that this song tells about longing for someone but the person who he loved was died and immortal love for his life, even though the woman was died.

                Then, the video clip of this song is very unique. The video shows various people and a dog witness in awe, staring at a swirling mammatus cloud formation associated with a squall line. It has a well-defined vortex which is lit by a veiled sun on an overcast day after a snowfall has blanketed the area, displaying a vanilla twilight. Midway through the video the storm and a lighthouse glimmer with aurora colors. Towards the end of the video O'Neal lifts his arms towards the cloud and mouths "Take me with you".

                Actually, I don’t really like the story of this video clip. I think there is no relation between the content of the song with the video clip, but be more appropriate only with the title. If you wanna sing, just sing. Maybe if he sing a song, the condition will be different.

                But, we can say that this song is very good, easy listening, but it took a long time to understanding about this song, with the video clip that very spectacular, and I really love it.
